Like gardening? Help us create an ornamental garden as a centerpiece for our Community Garden; we have funds for plants, all we need are folks who like to dig in the dirt.
If working on your own is more appealing to you and your schedule, consider writing an article for the ADVOCATE, our monthly newspaper focused on projects, events, & organizations and people who live in Northeast Spokane.
Build 'Go Bags'. Help us build bags of items that would sustain a family in an area-wide emergency like pandemic flu; many families can't make extra purchases to prepare for such events. Lists are available at www.doh.wa.gov.
The Center will need to ready to help in an emergency, you could gather and box supplies.
Consider yard work fun or theraputic?
Our grounds & shrubs suffered through the long winter and could use the gentle touch of many hands. In the Fall, we need help with leaf raking and mulch making.
Interested in digging into research? Help us develop a statistical profile about Northeast Neighborhoods that could be used in grant writing.
Conduct a 'Neccessities Drive'. Collect things that low-income families need, but can't acquire with food cards, such as diapers, laundry detergent, shampoo, soap, toilet paper or paper towels.
Be a host or assist with one of our fundraisers!
